Build your Birding Skill Sanctuary Success Conservation Counts
V Bar V Heritage Area - Saturday, January 20th, 9:30-11:30 AM
Meet in the V Bar V parking lot (note that there is free parking on the unpaved roads near the parking lot). Restrooms are available in the visitor center. We will bird along the flat trail to the petroglyphs and back looking for overwintering riparian birds. Target species include White-throated Sparrow, Hermit Thrush, and Green-tailed Towhee, along with the typical riparian birds, such as Black Phoebe, Bridled Titmouse, and Gila Woodpecker. In addition to the beautiful riparian habitat, the petroglyphs at this site are part of an ancient solar calendar and well worth a look! Harry Jones will lead. Email hjones@birdpop.org with questions.
