It's said that the best way to learn a subject is to teach it. We welcome those who would like to learn by teaching. None of us are experts, we welcome those who are learning themselves! To join our organization, email: birdnaas@gmail.com

Monthly Meeting Program:

  • We present educational monthly meetings in Sedona and Flagstaff which feature informative speakers and chapter news.
  • Monthly Yardie Awards

Education:

  • Birding 101 is a beginning birding class taught by NAAS expert birders.
  • Teaching birding to local school groups and after-school programs at local libraries.
  • NAAS is holding “Big Sits” at various locations. Learning about birds while observing them is the best way to increase your birding skills and knowledge.

Field Trips:

  • In 2021 NAAS began gifting honorariums to guides who lead Field Trips to a variety of regional eBird Hotspots.
  • Join our Meetup Group: “Birding Flagstaff, Sedona and the Verde Valley” and choose to be notified of upcoming field trips.
  • Look for “Events” on our Facebook page for information on our Field Trips.

BlackHawk Watch:

  • We publish our newsletter, The Blackhawk Watch, on our website. We urge subscribers to become members.
  • A subscription service is offered for updates on our website.
