Build your Birding Skill Sanctuary Success Conservation Counts
Let's Bird Kachina Wetlands, Saturday, September 9th, 8:00 am – 10:30 am
Northern Arizona Audubon Society will be offering a bird walk at Kachina Wetlands on Saturday, Sept 9th, from 8-10:30 am, and we'd love to have you join us. Fall migrants are beginning to appear, and there could be several species of shorebirds and ducks that we only see in the spring and fall. This is your chance to improve your identification skills with the help of Tom Hedwall, the field trip leader who is highly skilled in bird ecology and identification.
Meet at the entrance to Kachina Wetlands at 8 am. Please bring binoculars if you have them, and also water, a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
Kachina Wetlands is wheelchair accessible, but there are no restrooms. Contact tshedwall@gmail.com if you have questions.
How to get there: From I-17 south of Flagstaff, take the Kachina Village exit. Immediately turn right, onto Tovar Trail. Follow Tovar north for one mile, and turn right into the dirt parking area. You will see a large green water tower near the entrance.
